Anastassia Shaitarova is a native Russian speaker with more than 10 years experience studying English. She also completed a degree in Education and Linguistics at Herzen University, St. Petersburg, Russia, before moving to the United States. She has interpreted for delegations of Russian ecological architects and designers, and has contributed to several projects involving sustainable agriculture and conscious design. She is currently translating a favorite Russian novel into English.       Daniel Wolfe is a native English speaker with an aptitude and passion for languages. After graduating with a degree in Russian from Grinnell College, USA, he moved to St. Petersburg, Russia, where he taught, translated, and interpreted for three years. He has translated websites for small businesses, liner notes for CD's, and a number of creative projects for musicians and performance artists. His most unusual interpreting job involved bargaining between a French physicist and a Russian tailor in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
We are a two-person translating, interpreting, and teaching team dedicated to helping Russians and Americans better understand one another. With experience travelling and working in half a dozen languages, we have found that documents translated by a single individual are often plagued by errors and inaccuracies. We believe that two native speakers, one from each language, can work together for a more faithful and natural translation. This is the theory behind LavaLingua.
